Salinas Police Services Headquarters won Government/Public Buildings Best Project Award – Northern Region and El Gabilan Library won the Cultural/Worship Merit Award – Northern Region.

ENR California 2020 Government/Public Buildings Best Project – Northern Region

Salinas Police Services Headquarters

The City of Salinas’ new $56 million police headquarters consists of two buildings, a two-story, 44,352 square foot building and a second, 24,878 square foot building. The facility houses all first responder functions and has been built to the highest life safety building standards for wind and seismic events. The facility includes state-of-the-art evidence storage areas, forensic laboratories, canine and bicycle officer support and a ten-station firing range. The project was completed on-time and on-budget using a 63-20 Progressive Design-Build delivery approach.

ENR California 2020 Cultural/Worship Merit Award – Northern Region

El Gabilan Library

The new El Gabilan Library is a $21 million project two-story, 21,076 square foot building for the City of Salinas that includes a spacious main lobby, a tech maker space, and of course, library circulation faculties. The new library is designed with a community focus that features an outdoor children’s zone, a teen area, homework help area and an outdoor patio and amphitheater. Parking for staff and members of the public is also included in the design for the project. The project was completed on-time and on-budget using a 63-20 Progressive Design-Build delivery approach.
